Parent with two children, typical of family estate-planning clients

Wills, LPAs, and personal papers for Singapore residents

We prepare wills that can be proved here, lasting powers of attorney for the Office of the Public Guardian, and employment or family documents you can keep on file.

When to instruct on a personal file

People come in before a long trip, after a birth or a divorce, when an employer sends a new contract, or when a relative needs someone named to manage money or personal welfare. Those are document problems, not speeches about “life stages”.

A Singapore will should name executors, deal with CPF nominations separately (CPF is not always covered by the will), and say what happens to the residue. We draft in plain sentences and read the will through with you before you sign in front of two witnesses.

Lasting powers of attorney

An LPA lets a donee act if you lose capacity. Property and personal welfare are separate. A certificate issuer must certify the form. We prepare the LPA, explain who may be a donee, and tell you how lodgement with the Office of the Public Guardian works.

Employment as an individual

We read the offer or the termination letter against the Employment Act and your existing contract. You get a short written note of the clauses that matter — notice, bonus, garden leave, and post-termination restraints — before you sign or reply.

These files are taken in a closed room. We do not discuss your will or LPA in a shared waiting area. You may bring a family member if you want them present; we still take instructions from you.

Fees for a straightforward will or LPA are quoted after we know the assets and the family map. A dispute file is billed separately and only after you accept that scope.
